The village of Písečné is located in the Jindřichův Hradec district, South Bohemian region, in the beautiful valley of the Moravian Dyje near the border with Austria. The first written mention of the village comes from 1366, the name is derived from the sandy nature of the local land. Czech, German and Jewish culture used to meet in Písečný, an attentive visitor can still find traces of this coexistence to this day.
The surrounding countryside offers many opportunities for cycling and hiking, directly through the village passes the Greenway Prague - Vienna.
