The village of Velké Svatoňovice is located in northeastern Bohemia, 9 km from the town of Trutnov. It is located on the eastern edge of the Krkonoše foothills at an altitude of 394 m above sea level. Velké Svatoňovice consists of the cadastral areas of Velké Svatoňovice, Markoušovice and Starý Sedloňov. The village has an area of 1736 ha and currently has 1252 inhabitants.
