Obec Slatinky
Slatinky village.
Slatinky lies in a picturesque valley, bordered on the west by the wooded hillside of Velky Kosire, which is 443 m high, the highest point of our land. From the north then the bare ridge of Small Kosire. On the south side, the valley is closed by a protected landscape area with a steppe flora called Vápenice, a site of rare fossils of the Devonian Sea. To the east, the valley opens into the Haná plain. In that direction you can see St. Hill in Olomouc, church in Dub and tower of castle in Tovačov.
The history of our territory dates back to prehistoric times, the first man settled our locality already 40 000 years ago, as evidenced by many archaeological finds that are stored in Moravian museums. The most valuable is the statue of Venus of Kosire.
The history of the village derives from the first written mention of its existence in the archival writings of the monastery of St. Jakub in Olomouc from 1247.
