Týniště nad Orlicí is a town in the Hradec Králové Region in the Rychnov nad Kněžnou district. The first written mention of the town is documented in 1361. For the pine forests that surround the town, Týniště nad Orlicí is often referred to as a "town in the woods". Its name originated from the word "tyn", which meant a fortified castle on an elevated spot. The emblem of the city represents a pine tree with green branches on a red shield. On the trunk of the tree is a white shield with three black stripes at the top, which is the emblem of the lords of Kunštát. The coat of arms of the town was granted in 1487 by Prince Jindřich the Elder of Kunštát and Poděbrady.
