The Research Institute for Occupational Safety, v. V. I. Is a public research institution established by the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs of the Czech Republic. Our main activity is research, verification and application of methods and means in the field of prevention of risks to health and life of persons, the environment and tangible assets resulting from work activities and improvement of work well-being and quality of working life. We also deal with operational research, ie monitoring the status and development of safety and health at work, maintaining data and statistics in the field of safety and health at work. We are located at Jeruzalémská 1283/9, Prague.

Research Institute of Occupational Safety:
- research, verification and application of methods and means in the field of prevention of risks to health and life of persons, environment and material goods resulting from work activities and improvement of work well-being and quality of working life
- operational research, ie monitoring the state and development of safety and health at work, maintaining data and statistics in the field of safety and health at work
- development and operation of factual, bibliographic and intelligence information systems in the field of occupational safety and health, fulfillment of tasks in the field of standardization, conformity assessment and certification, fulfillment of tasks of a professional workplace for prevention of serious industrial accidents, fulfillment of tasks in the field of OSH education, awareness and promotion
- performs the function of an analytical and conceptual workplace in the field of safety and health protection at work
- the function of a counseling and consultation center and expertise in the field of safety and health at work.
