The Goethe-Institut is a cultural institute of the Federal Republic of Germany with worldwide scope. We support knowledge of the German language abroad and foster international cultural cooperation.
The Czech Goethe-Institut has been based in Prague since 1990, from where it coordinates the activities of Goethe-Instituts in Slovakia, Poland, Hungary, Slovenia, Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia as part of its regional mandate.
The Goethe-Institut Czech Republic offers a high-quality and diversified language education program, which also includes workshops and seminars for teachers of German as a foreign language.
The institute is also active in all areas of the cultural program. We organize it in our house on the bank of the Vltava river and at our partners in many cities and regions of the Czech Republic.
We also have our own library. In addition to classic books, she also works with other information media and digital offers or with the multifunctional thematic space in the library lobby. The library offers information on contemporary cultural and social life in Germany.
