The village of Černava is located in the Karlovy Vary Region in the foothills of the Ore Mountains, on the border of the districts of Karlovy Vary and Sokolov.
The name of the village is derived either from the name of Černý potok or from coal mining. The first written mention of the village dates from 1489.
Currently, Černava has 302 permanent residents, and the adjacent settlement of Rájec also belongs to it.
A larger number of houses in Černava are used for recreational purposes. Basic amenities are available in the village.
