Městys Panenský Týnec

The town of Panenský Týnec is located in the Ústí Region in the Louny District, on the plateau of the Džbánská Vysočina, which lies on marl layers.

The first written mention of the village dates from 1115, archaeological excavations testify to an earlier prehistoric settlement. It currently has 439 permanent residents.

Panenský Týnec is a typical rural village, but it still has a lot to offer. There is a primary and kindergarten school, a playground, a grocery store, and a dentist's and general practitioner's office for adults.

The most important tourist attraction in the township is the notorious temple. It is a Gothic church of the Virgin Mary that was never completed, with a Baroque bell tower adjacent to it.
Together with the neighboring former convent of the Poor Clares and the park, it forms an area sought after by tourists and offering relaxation to local citizens.

The surroundings of Panenské Týnec is an ideal place for nature lovers. Here you will find flat forests rich in mushrooms and wild berries, steep slopes and rocks above deep valleys with beautiful views of the region.
