Osice village can be found in the Hradec Kralove Region only thirteen kilometers southwest of Hradec Kralove. The first written mention of the village is related to the history of the Opatovický monastery and is dated to 1073. Two small villages Trávník and Polizy are attached to Osice. Currently, 450 people live here. Osice is the birthplace of the composer and conductor František Škroup, co-author of the Czech national anthem.
