The village of Smržov lies in the triangle between Jaroměří, Opocne and Smiřice at an altitude of 260 m in the district of Hradec Králové and currently has 508 inhabitants. The first documented mention of the village of Smržov is from 1490. The village of Smržov also includes a part of the village of Hubíles, in which approx. 150 inhabitants. In the village there is a natural swimming pool - Nádrž Smržov with a slide and a sports area connected to the cottage area. Roughly half of the residential development consists of older homesteads, the other half of new family houses, built recently.
