One of the most beautiful gateways to the Eagle Mountains is the town of Dobruška. Its location at the crossroads of old trade routes made it a natural center of gravity for the entire surrounding area. The oldest written report about Dobruška as a city dates back to 1320. From the 16th century, the city became the economic center of the flourishing East Bohemian dominion of the Trčků z Lípa. In the 19th century, Dobrušska became one of the regional foci of national revival. Today's Dobruška has over 7,000 inhabitants and forms the administrative, economic and cultural center of a wide area.
