The village of Oponešice is a small village located in the southern tip of the Vysočina region. The village is located 7 km northeast of Jemnice and is crossed by the road from Budkovo to Mladoňovice. The first written mention of Oponešice dates from 1351, when the village belonged to Vilhem of Upolněšice.
The oldest building in the village is the building of the originally Gothic fortress, which was later converted into a sheepfold and a granary. The first documented mention of it is from the second half of the 14th century, apparently built by lords from Police. After 1542, it lost its residential function and reconstructions into a farm building began.
In the village there is a chapel of St. John and Paul, built in 1774, which was rebuilt in its present form in 1884. There are 4 chapels in the vicinity of the village, there are records of these in maps from the 1770s. Towards Budkov is a stone column with four crosses and four heads, which was probably built at this place after the Hussite campaign through the region, and 4 dead Hussites were buried here approx. 1423. Statue in the village among linden trees (formerly on the dam of the pond) St. Jan Nepomucký comes from 1716.
The municipal office is located at Oponešice 27, district Třebíč.
