Obec Ivaň

The village of Ivano is located in the district of Brno-venkov on the left bank of the river Jihlava on the river terrace between the rivers Jihlava and Svratka.

Both rivers are bordered by floodplain forests, the best-preserved parts of which with typical flora and fauna are protected as the nature reserve Plačkův les and the Šatava river and the Dolní Mušovský luh natural monument.

The village belongs to an old residential area with proven Slavic settlement from the Early Slavic period and was created by gradual development on the river terrace.

Currently, the village has 759 inhabitants and there is a Primary and Kindergarten school, a general practitioner's office and a multi-purpose playground.

Several interest associations are also active here.
