Obec Loučany
Loučany is a village and municipality (obec) in Olomouc District in the Olomouc Region of the Czech Republic. The first written mention of it is in the deed of Olomouc bishop Jindřich Zdík from 1141.
Since 1974, the village Loučany against the will of citizens integrated into the central village Náměšť na Hané. In 1990, the citizens took advantage of the possibility to take the local government into their own hands. In the first free elections, they elected a 15-member municipal council with a five-member municipal council.
Loučany village is located in the Haná plain 14 km west of the district town of Olomouc, at an altitude of 234 m.
The cadastral area of Loučany covers 500 ha of fertile land. The 240 houses live 643 inhabitants.
The village of Loučany has a primary school from the 1st to the 5th year, which celebrated in 2000 twenty-five years of its existence. Before that, however, was already in the village trivial school. The kindergarten also had its round anniversary this year: fifty years have passed since its founding and forty years have passed since the construction of the new building in which the school canteen is in operation.
