OSEVA vývoj a výzkum s.r.o. is engaged in research and development in the field of natural and technical sciences or social sciences. An additional activity is the activity of technical consultants in the field of agriculture and natural sciences. The research activity is provided by two workplaces, namely the grass research station in Zubří and the oilseeds research institute in Opava.

Grass research station in Zubří:
- is one of the oldest forage institutes in Europe
- was established in 1920 as an expression of an effort to increase the level of management of meadows and pastures in the foothills
- currently deals with the study and evaluation of genetic resources of grasses for agricultural and technical purposes, including their conservation
- the station proposes, on the basis of its own experiments, new technological procedures for growing grasses for seed
- In recent years, the station has also been dealing with the possibilities of energy use of grasses
- research into pratotechnics and increasing the diversity of grasslands
- breeding of fodder and lawn varieties of grass and now also buckwheat (Zita, Zoe, Zamira) and white lupine (Zulika)

Research Institute of Oilseeds in Opava:
- founded in 1921 as a state research agricultural station
- specialization in the breeding of oilseeds
- employees of the research institute significantly participated in the development of modern large-scale production technologies of oilseeds, mainly winter rape and poppy
- developed a comprehensive poppy cultivation technology and actively implemented it in practice.
