The village of Skotnice is located 2 km north of Příbor in close proximity to Mošnov airport.
Expressway I/58 passes through the cadastre of the village, which significantly connects Ostrava to the south.
Skotnice is frequently visited by cyclists who use
cycling routes No. 6039 and 6136.
Skotnice's attractions include the important mineralogic site of Hončova Hůrk, the cultural immovable monument of God's torment free-standing near the road I/58, a water mill with an area with preserved and operable equipment and an exhibition gallery in Skorotín. Numerous restaurants and hospitality facilities (restaurants) that offer local specialties, traditional folk country food

The relationship of the citizens to the village is also exceptional. In 2002, Skotnice won 1st place in the village for involving the public in life in the village
