Five kilometers east of the town of Hranice is one of the oldest settlements in Moravia – Špičky. According to tradition, the settlement of Špičky already existed in the ninth century, during the time of the Great Moravian Empire. As part of their missionary journey in Moravia, Cyril and Methodius allegedly founded a Christian church here on the site of a pagan one, which was the second oldest in Moravia after Velehrad.

The first written mention of the village is considered to be a document from 1132.

About 300 inhabitants live in the village in 104 properties.

The dominant feature of the village is the parish church of St. Simon and Jude. In the center of the village there is a municipal house with a restaurant and an adjacent lighted multi-purpose playground with an artificial grass surface and a children's corner.
In the building of the former school there is a municipal office and a common room with a library.
The village is the founder of a kindergarten with a capacity of 20 children.
The area of the large-scale grass field with a base for fire sports and social facilities serves associations and citizens for sporting and social use.

There are three active associations in the village:
- Women's Association
- Hunting association Hejné
- Voluntary Firefighter Unit
- chess ring
- table tennis ring, which is part of SDH.
