The Institute of Ethnology of the ASCR, v. V. I., Is a research institute focused on basic and applied research in the field of ethnology and in related scientific disciplines such as ethnography, folklore, social and cultural anthropology. Its history dates back to 1905. At present, the Institute of Ethnology consists of five research departments and a department of scientific information. We are located at Na Florenci 1420/3, Prague.
Institute of Ethnology:

- participation in the teaching of subject specialists
- contributes to the knowledge of the way of life and culture of various national, social and ethnic groups and national minorities in the Czech lands and abroad
- publishes professional publications, journals, proceedings, organizes scientific conferences and seminars
- basic research focuses on traditional spiritual and material culture and on the issue of social relations in a historical perspective and in the present.
