Near the town of Kolín we find the picturesque village of Grunta, which stretches northwest of the center of Kutná Hora and 6 km southeast of the center of the district town of Kolín. After the foundation of Kutná Hora, the village of Grunta in the Central Bohemia region became a place of intensive mining activity. Of interest, it is certainly worth mentioning the tourist attraction, which is the important Neo-Romanesque-Art Nouveau architectural monument, the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary.
The most interesting landmark of the village of Grunt is therefore the church, which is valuable for its exhibition, rich interior architectural design, exceptionally extensive art nouveau painting of the entire church space. An important figure in its creation was the violin virtuoso Jan Kubelík, who dedicated the colored window behind the main altar to the church.
