The village of Budětice is located in the district of Klatovy. It consists of parts of Budětice, Lipová Lhota and Vlkonice, about 300 inhabitants live here. The village is part of the Buděticko Nature Park. About a kilometer north of Budětice, on the wooded hill of Džbán, are the ruins of Budětice Castle from the second half of the 13th century. The outer rampart, moat, foundations of the cylindrical tower and the castle palace have been preserved. Since 1958, the remains of the castle have been protected as a cultural monument of the Czech Republic.
The first written mention of our village dates from 1290, the village was founded probably in the first half of the 13th century.

Several nature reserves have been declared in the Buděticko Nature Park. One of them is the nature reserve Čepičná, which can be found south of the village Budětice. This protected area is occupied by the Čepičná and Chanovec hills, which rise above the left bank of the Otava River. The area is managed by the Nature and Landscape Protection Agency of the Czech Republic. There are a number of protected species of rare lime-loving and thermophilic plants. The area is also important from an entomological point of view. Another natural monument Vlkonice is also declared a protected area, there are critically endangered plant species.
