The village of Vatín can be found in the Vysočina region, near the district town of Žďár nad Sázavou. The first written mention of the village dates back to 1353. The center of the village consists of a village square with the chapel of Our Lady of Sorrows and the pond Návesník. From 1980 to 1991, Vatín was part of the town of Žďár nad Sázavou. At present, a total of 374 inhabitants live here.
