Poběžovice is located at the foot of the Bohemian Forest, about 15 km from Domažlice. The surroundings are dominated by fields, meadows and forests, and the Pivoňka stream flows through the town. Local parts are Ohnišťovice, Sedlec, Sezemín, Šibanov, Šitboř, Zámělíč. Now in our city live 1545 inhabitants.
The first written record comes from 1359, when Poběžovice belonged to Zdeněk of Ronšperk. In 1502 Poběžovice was promoted to a town.

In 1995 Poběžovice was declared an urban conservation area. A tourist destination is also the Mining of feldspars in the Poběžovice region, which maps natural attractions and mining activities in the Poběžovice region and consists of two circuits with a total of 14 sites.
