The village of Ostrov is located in the Pardubice region on the border of the districts of Chrudim (it belongs here), Pardubice and Ústí nad Orlicí.
There are 55 descriptive numbers (houses) in the village
permanent residents of which here
less than 200 people live here. There are also almost 20
a cottage, to which people mainly from Prague and nearby Pardubice commute to relax.
Currently, the main "driving force" is
in the village, the local volunteer fire brigade, which annually organizes various not only cultural events (entertainment, ball, children's day and others). Furthermore, it achieves an excellent position in district competitions (since 1995, it has always won regularly).
A significant component is also the local hockey club HC Ostrov, which regularly reaches the medal ranks in the Unregistered League played at the winter stadium in Skutč.
