Research into neurobiological mechanisms leading to the development of the most serious mental disorders (schizophrenia, depression, anxiety states and stress reactions). Research also includes the development and testing of new diagnostic and treatment methods. The approach to solving the problem is based on the interconnectedness of the methodologies of molecular biology, animal modeling and clinical research and testing.
