The village of Borač is located in the Hornosvratecka highlands, in the Svratecká hornatina nature park, approximately 7 km northwest of Tišnov. The municipality includes two local parts: Borač and Podolí (in the cadastral territory of Podolí near Borač).
The first written mention of Borač is from 1368.
Monuments - The chapel with the image of the Virgin Mary of the Rose was built in 1856. The cross in front of it bears the date 1863, and there is also a monument to the fallen next to it. On the road to Doubravník there is a marble cross on the left, a wooden cross with a sheet Christ and a little further on the right a brick torment of God. There is also a bell tower.
