The village of Červený Hrádek is located at an altitude of 525 m above sea level in the picturesque nature of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. Historically, the village is located in Moravia, but otherwise in southern Bohemia. It falls administratively
under the district of Jindřichův Hradec; the relevant municipality with extended jurisdiction is the town of Dačice. The village currently has 214 inhabitants.

In the village you will find the chapel of St. Panny Maria, built in 1840,
with a hand-painted altar made of Mrákotín granite. Inside the chapel, there is a memorial plaque that was established in honor of those who died in the First World War. A stone cross from 1860 stands in front of the chapel.

The village also has a Mlýnský rybník, which is used for fishing.

In the Řečice valley, you will find a sports area with a football field, courts and a natural swimming pool.

About a kilometer from the village there is a game reserve in Kouty. It was one of the favorite places of Otokar Březina, a Czech symbolist poet, and also for a short time a teacher at a school in nearby Nová Říš.
