The town of Nový Knín is located in the Central Bohemian Kaj in the district of Příbram, near the town of Dobříš. Nový Knín has a rich history associated with gold mining in its vicinity and is also the town in which the first beekeeping school in Bohemia was founded in 1776. Since 1990, the historical center of Nový Knín has been an urban conservation area.
