Dětřichov is located in the north of Bohemia, in the Liberec district in the Liberec region. It lies in the Frýdlant foothills about 4 km southwest of the town of Frýdlant and the Oleška river flows through it. At present, the village has 718 inhabitants. The village includes a kindergarten and primary school, as well as a municipal office and a library.
It is believed that the village was founded during the German colonization in the 14th century and the first written mention of it concerns the local church of St. Anny.
In 1857 Dětřichov had 1289 inhabitants and in 1900 even 1723 people, mostly Germans. After the expulsion of the Germans, settlers from the Chrudim region, the Bydžov region and the surroundings of Hradec Králové came to the village, and Czechs from Volhynia and Zelovers also settled here.
