The village of Krnsko is located in the Central Bohemian Region in the district of Mladá Boleslav. The name of the village is derived from the founder of the settlement named Krn. Over time, the village was divided into Lower and Upper Krnsko and Řehnice. Dolní Krnsko, historically younger, lies about 5 km southwest of Mladá Boleslav in the beautiful valley of the Skalský brook, called Strenický in our part or formerly Trstenický. Above it is the original village, Horní Krnsko, which is dominated by a beautiful, although currently inaccessible castle. The Řehnická part used to be the seat of the lordship and later of the Vančur family. Their estates were bought in the 18th century by the owner of the Krn estate. During the long millennia, the landscape around Krnsko was formed. Rivers flowing into the sea, which had once been here, dug troughs, creating valleys. This is how Strenické and Duškáň were created. In 1914, electricity was introduced into the village. The municipality had to subscribe for a share in Dražická elektrárna, from which it received an annual dividend. Upper Krnsko was illuminated by six lamps, Podkrnsko once and Lower Krnsko by seven lamps. When visiting our village, you can walk two hiking trails that will introduce you to the historical monuments in the area and the beautiful nature with many attractions of fauna and flora. Information boards located in the village and its surroundings offer not only a map of the route, but also photographs and a brief description of the monument or natural attraction.
In our village, children can attend kindergarten and primary school, which is located in a common building.
