The municipality of Libčany, which consists of two local parts, Libčany and Želí. The village is located approximately 7 km east of Hradec Králové. Libčany is located in a beautiful natural environment, surrounded by forests and greenery.
The first written mention of the village dates from 1073.
Approximately 891 inhabitants currently live in Libčany.
Landmarks:
- the Romanesque Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
- in honor of Matěj Kopecky, since 1974, the "Puppet Parade for the Matěj Kopecky Prize" has been held every year on Sundays in November in the Libčany municipal pub
- Vojtěch Sedláček memorial hall opened in 1977 on the occasion of his 85th birthday, which he missed.
