The town of Vizovice lies in the foothills of the Vizovice Hills, about 15 km east of the regional town of Zlín. The town of Vizovice has almost 5, 000 inhabitants. The area is 28, 55 km2. The town lies at an altitude of 296 m. The first written mention dates from 1261. The dominant feature is a Baroque castle, two triangular squares, a church and a hospital from the 18th century. The historic core of the city is a city monument zone. The town of Vizovice is the gateway to Wallachia and the birthplace of Bolek Polívka, but also of the world composer Alois Hába.
Since 1 January 2003, the town of Vizovice has been a municipality with an authorized municipal office and extended powers. The district of the authorized municipal office Vizovice includes 15 towns and villages: Bratřejov, Březová, Dešná, Hrobice, Jasenná, Lhotsko, Lutonina, Neubuz, Podkopná Lhota, Slušovice, Trnava, Ublo, Veselá, Všemina, Zádveřice-Raková. Together with Vizovice, the entire district has almost 16 and a half thousand inhabitants.

Vizovice pastry:
- decorative pastry, the pastry has existed for over 150 years, but it is possible and probable that its origin dates back much earlier
- not intended for eating, the dough is made from half a liter of white plain flour and two deciliters of cold water
- with the help of hands, knives, scissors, tweezers and other common household aids, it is most often shaped into animal shapes
- the shaped figures are then allowed to dry, rubbed with an egg and can be baked at a moderate temperature for up to five hours.
