Obec SkasticeThe village of Skaštice is located about 5 km north of the town of Kroměříž in the fertile plain of the Upper Moravian Valley. The cadastral area measures 773 ha and currently around 390 inhabitants live here. The village also includes a part of "Horní zahrady", which directly connects to the same-named part of the city of Kroměříž.All utilities are available in the village. In the building of the former elementary school from 1895, which is a cultural monument, there is a kindergarten, a library and a gymnasium. There is also a sports complex in the village, including two football fields and one multi-purpose field.In the village you can visit a pub, small and medium-sized businesses such as car repair, trucking, locksmiths, hairdressers and others are also developing here. There are also larger employers engaged in the production of horticultural substrates, the production and sale of plastic windows and plastic production. In addition, several other industrial enterprises are located in the "Horní zahrady" part.There are two recreation areas on the outskirts of the village. The first of them is a pond called "Plavisko", near which there is a fishing hut and a picnic area. The second zone is represented by the location called "Cihelna".Events such as carnival, witch burning, fishing competitions and others take place every year in the village.
