Městys Litenčice.

Litenčice village is situated in the middle of Litenčická pahorkatina, 21 km southwest of Kroměříž.

Brief history of the village
The first mention of Litenčice is contained in Zdík's deed from 1141. However, an archaeological survey on the Obecnice hill found 153 graves from the Great Moravian Empire. While Litenčice was originally a church property, as a result of property transfers, small aristocracy had been in possession since the 14th century. Until 1713 the owners often changed. This year the village was bought by the Thonsern family. Their descendants were Podstatští of Prusinovice, who held the estate until 1948.

The most important monuments
The greatest sight of Litenčice is the chateau from 1437 and the church of St. Peter and Paul from around 1700. The preserved collection of monuments is complemented by the Chapel of the Virgin Mary and a cross at the church from 1757 with a plastic corpus of Christ.

Culture and traditions
In the village with 420 inhabitants observe January hunting ball, February Sokol carnival and June feast. Sokol has a rich tradition, which also participates in organizing social events for citizens.

Natural attractions
South of the village on an area of almost 70 hectares is situated nature reserve Strabišov-Oulehla. It is originally a forest steppe, covered with coniferous and mixed forest. Many rare and protected plant species grow here. Above the village, the two highest peaks of Litenčická pahorkatina - Kleštěnec and Hradisko - rise.

The destination of the tourist hike can be the two highest peaks of Litenčická pahorkatina, Kleštěnec and Hradisko.
