The Institute of Experimental Botany of the ASCR, v. V. I., Conducts mainly basic research in plant biology, specifically in plant genetics, physiology, phytopathology and biotechnology, and was founded in 1962. It currently has 14 laboratories located in Prague and Olomouc. We focus on molecular genetics of pollen and functional genomics of plants, hormonal and ecological control of plant growth and development, mechanisms of transport and effect of growth regulators, physiology of plant viruses and plant pathophysiology, as well as design and preparation of edible plant vaccines and phytoremediation mechanisms. We are located at Rozvojová 263, Prague.
The main areas of research at the Institute of Experimental Botany of the ASCR (IEB) are plant genetics, physiology and biotechnology.
