Světlá Hora lies northwest of the town of Bruntál. The village is located at the eastern edge of the protected landscape area Jeseníky.

Černý potok flows through the village. The wooded slopes of the hills rise around the village. Světlá hora is also a holiday village, there are several guesthouses. In the northern part of the village is a farm with horse breeding and with the possibility of horseback riding.

A railway line connecting the town of Bruntál with Malá Morávka passes through the village. A marked cycling route passes through the village. Near the railway station in Světlá Hora there is a starting point of a red tourist route heading north from the village.

The first summary data on the founding of the village of LICHTEWERDEN appear in a chronicle written in German, based on the unknown when and by whom. The Czech translation was done in 1966 by the locals Milan Daněk and Josef Friedel, a retired teacher. Using this translation under the title "Brief history of the village Světlá according to the local chronicle from its foundation in 1267 to 1945", gradual addition from other sources, we present not only to the inhabitants of Andělská Hora, Suchá Rudná, Stará Voda, Pustá Rudná, Dětřichovice, Podlesí, Stará Rudná, Nová Rudná, but also others interested in history picture of their origin and development.
